Australia Marketplace ATWS 2020 is a special one-day event hosted by Tourism Australia, preceding the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s Adventure Travel World Summit 2020 event supported by Tourism Australia and the South Australia Tourism Commission, to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from Tuesday 6 – Friday 9 October, 2020. 

The event is a unique opportunity for representatives from the Australian adventure tourism industry to showcase their expertise and adventure offerings, to develop connections and pitch ideas with adventure travel focused media, and establish business relationships with qualified adventure travel focused buyers from around the world, with a primary focus on the Americas, UK and Continental Europe markets. 

The event includes one day of up to 30 pre-scheduled one-on-one appointments between approximately 100 media/buyers and 100 Australian sellers, a networking lunch and a memorable evening networking event. 

From wildlife encounters on Kangaroo Island to snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, from multi-day hikes across Tasmania’s rugged coastline to culinary adventures with local indigenous communities, adventure in Australia is evolving and it’s experiential at the core. Australian sellers who are ecotourism certified and sustainability focused, who showcase the Australian personality and way of life, who offer soft adventures across all regions of Australia are encouraged to apply for consideration to attend. 

Following Australia Marketplace ATWS 2020, the Adventure Travel World Summit 2020 will take place from 6-9 October 2020 at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The summit is an annual executive gathering for the fast growing adventure tourism industry that will see approximately 800 decision-makers come together at an opportune time to support Australia.  The event will offer inspiration, education and networking opportunities, with an emphasis on sustainability learning and climate action.  The four day event kicks off with a Day of Adventure, exploring Adelaide on Monday, 5 October.  The conference days that follow will include educational workshops, keynote speakers and MediaConnect (separate event to the Australia Marketplace) and various networking events. Tourism Australia is hosting the opening summit welcome reception on Wednesday, 7 October (location TBA).
