MEDIA FAQ
The ATE25 Media Program will be held from 25 to 28 April 2025 in Brisbane/Meanjin, in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, with support from Brisbane Economic Development Agency.
WHAT WILL THE ATE25 MEDIA PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?
The ATE25 Media Program is an opportunity for media delegates to meet one-on-one with Australian tourism businesses, special interest operators, attractions and accommodation providers. Over four days, exhibitor and media delegates will have the opportunity to conduct scheduled business appointments during International Media Marketplace in partnership with TravMedia, attend press updates, participate in key networking events, and experience Australia's tourism offerings first-hand through pre-, post- and day familiarisations.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
The ATE25 Media Program brings together Australian tourism businesses with invited international media through scheduled appointments and networking events.
WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND THE ATE25 MEDIA PROGRAM?
Tourism Australia is fully subsidising participation fees for all media delegates. Tourism Australia is also covering four nights accommodation from 25 to 28 April 2025 inclusive, for all media as part of the ATE25 Media Program.
WHAT IF I CAN ONLY ATTEND SOME OF THE PROPOSED APPOINTMENT TIMES?
Participation in the IMM event is compulsory and requires availability for the entire pre-scheduled appointment times. Exemptions can be made on a case-by-case basis by Tourism Australia. Please ensure any requests are submitted in writing.
HOW MANY DELEGATES FROM MY ORGANISATION CAN ATTEND THE EVENT?
Media organisations are permitted one media delegate to register for the event.
ARE FLIGHTS AND ACCOMMODATION INCLUDED FOR INVITED MEDIA TO ATTEND THE ATE25 MEDIA PROGRAM?
Tourism Australia is fully subsidising the cost of return airfares from your home country to Brisbane and four nights’ accommodation from 25 to 28 April 2025 inclusive. All internal flights in Australia will be fully subsidised by Tourism Australia and State and Territory Tourism Organisations. Further information will be available closer to the event.
CAN I BOOK MY OWN ACCOMMODATION TO THE ATE25 MEDIA PROGRAM?
If you prefer to manage your own accommodation, please contact the PR Manager in your market, or Elissa Tyrrell.
HOW LONG WILL THE APPOINTMENTS BE AT INTERNATIONAL MEDIA MARKETPLACE?
Appointments at International Media Marketplace will be 14-minutes in duration with 1-minute walk time between appointments.
HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS WILL I RECEIVE?
At International Media Marketplace, there will be 21 pre-scheduled appointment slots.
Tourism Australia cannot guarantee a minimum number of pre-scheduled appointments as this is dependent on exhibitor preferencing as well as exclusions selected. We strongly encourage all media to complete preferencing to ensure the best chance of receiving requested appointments.
Further details on how to complete preferencing will be sent in February 2025.
WHAT IF I DON’T GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN EXHIBITOR I REALLY WANTED TO MEET WITH?
Once your appointment schedule is released, there will be a period of online messaging where you can contact any exhibitors you did not receive a pre-scheduled appointment with and try to find a suitable time to meet.
We encourage media attending International Media Marketplace to maximise their breaks – morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, as well as the evening networking events to ensure they have connected with as many exhibitors as possible.
CAN I EXCLUDE EXHIBITORS THAT MAY NOT BE RELEVANT FOR ME TO MEET WITH?
Yes, media will be able to exclude any exhibitor operation types that are not relevant in the preferencing process. Further details will be sent to accepted exhibitors ahead of preferencing opening in February 2025.
WILL I GET A LIST OF ALL OF THE ATTENDEES AND CAN I CONTACT THEM OUTSIDE OF THE EVENT?
Yes, Tourism Australia will provide a Directory of Media to all exhibitors and a Directory of Australian Exhibitors to all media so that you can communicate post event.
WHAT IF I AM SUDDENLY NO LONGER ABLE TO ATTEND AFTER BEING ACCEPTED?
Media should advise Tourism Australia as soon as possible if they are unable to attend the event.
Attendance at the ATE25 Media Program will be monitored.
