G'day Australia 2024 (the "Event") is a forum for training frontline travel sellers of tourism products hosted by Tourism Australia. You are eligible to participate in the Event as either a:
- Qualified Aussie Specialist; or
- Premier Aussie Specialist
By submitting an application for the Event, you agree to the terms of participation, and you release TA, to the extent permitted by law, from liability for any loss or damage suffered by you as a result of participating in this event should your application be accepted and confirmed.
To be accepted as a participant at G'day Australia 2024, you must demonstrate to Tourism Australia (TA) that you meet the selection criteria and provide the necessary supporting materials by the key dates specified on the website. This criteria along with the Event Policy together form the terms of participation and govern your participation in this Event.
Aussie Specialist Selection Process
TA reserves the right to select Qualified Aussie Specialists and Premier Aussie Specialists that are relevant for the Event. Consideration will be given to the below selection criteria during the selection/assessment process. If the number of companies meeting the selection criteria exceeds supply for the event, TA has the right to apply any or all of the following:- Preference is given to agents who have completed all eight State and Territory modules
- Regional allocations to ensure balanced representation
- 'First in best dressed' limit based on the date an application is submitted prior to the deadline
- Preference will be given to agents who will be visiting Australia for the first time or who have not been to Australia since 2019.
TA reserves the right to not consider any applications or part thereof submitted after the application deadline for the Event.
All Aussie Specialists and Premier Aussie Specialists applying to participate at the Event, must demonstrate in their application that they comply with each of the following selection criteria. TA reserves the right to waive any of these criteria at its discretion and/or amend or reject any Aussie Specialist, who is inconsistent with the criteria.
Applicants must meet all mandatory criteria in order to be eligible to participate in the Event as follows:
- Must be a Qualified Aussie Specialist or Premier Aussie Specialist;
- Must be Frontline sales staff or equivalent employed full time in a licensed agency;
- Have a minimum of 6 months experience with current agency;
- Must have completed the Western Australia module by the time of application to participate in the Event;
- Must have your Manager’s approval, agree to the participation fee and to attend all components of the training workshop, functions and famil itinerary;
- Must have a valid passport with at least six (6) months validity after the Event – i.e. must not expire before May 2025;
- You agree to source any visas required and obtain travel insurance with all associated costs at your own expense;
- You confirm that you can speak and write a good level of English;
- You will be at least 18 years old on the date of departure;
- Must be in full time employment. If you move to another agency prior to the event taking place, you will need to re-apply to maintain your position; and
- Have approved creditor status with Tourism Australia including, without limitation, no bad debts.
Cancellation of Participation
TA reserves the right to:
a. cancel the participation of an organisation that has an outstanding account with TA and/ or the has not accepted and paid for their attendance during the offer acceptance time frame / OR which has not been cleared 60 working days prior to the commencement of the event. You acknowledge that if this should occur, you have no right of action, claim, proceeding or demand against TA for such cancellation;
b. cancel the participation of such an organisation despite the fact that TA has accepted deposit funds from that organisation; and
c. apply cancellation fees as per the dates published on the website, which are enforceable at the time a seller accepts TA’s offer to participate in the event.
All cancellations must be confirmed in writing to TA by email to taindustryevents@tourism.australia.com. Cancellation fees apply regardless of whether the participation fee has been paid. Cancellation fees will apply in line with dates outlined in the application process.
