In order to attend the Australian Tourism Exchange 2021 (ATE21) ("Event"), all international, online and Australian based buyers invited to attend the must meet the following criteria. If you do not meet one or more of the criteria, you will need to make a written request for an exemption.
1. You must be a:
i. A tourism product or service; or
ii. A State, Territory or Regional Tourism Association (or other relevant industry member).
2. Please refer to the ATE Buyer Terms and Conditions for full considerations applied to the above categories.
3. An invited buyer must be a senior decision maker, product manager, contract manager or retail agent.
4. As an invited guest you should have received a personal invitation from Tourism Australia to apply as a buyer to meet with Australian tourism product exhibiting at ATE21. For companies or delegates who have received this invitation, completion of the application form will not necessarily result in acceptance to attend ATE21.
5. You cannot nominate a relative, friend or a person not actively involved in your day to day business operations. TA reserves the right to deny registration or entry to persons who are not directly involved in the business operations.
6. Companies wishing to attend or who have been invited to attend must have a demonstrated or proven ability to work with the Australian tourism industry to brochure, package and sell Australian tourism product within overseas and domestic markets.
7. Inbound Tour Operators (ITO) and Destination Management Companies (DMC) can apply to attend as a buyer without being first accepted to attend as a seller. It is no longer mandatory for ITOs and DMCs to also attend as a seller. ITO’s and DMC's will be considered for attendance separately as a buyer as either hosted or unhosted at the sole discretion of Tourism Australia.
8. If you are an inbound tour operator, current membership of the Inbound Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) is preferable.
9. Australian based buyers must be directly employed as the Australian based representative of the overseas or online buyer company invited to attend the Event.
10. Applications of Australian based buyers to attend and to meet with Australian tourism product exhibiting at ATE21 will be assessed on an individual basis.
11. In countries where licensing of general sales agents, wholesaler and retail travel agents is government regulation, proof of a valid license number must be provided to Tourism Australia on request.
12. You must submit a completed online application, which addresses each of the criteria relevant to your desired level of participation, and any other necessary supporting materials to Tourism Australia by the dates specified.
13. Tourism Australia retains the right to determine, in its sole absolute discretion, whether any particular applicant, or any employee, agent or representative of any applicant should attend and determine their specific entitlements in line with the policies of the Event, to reject any application for any reason whatsoever, or for no reason at all. Applicants acknowledge that there is no obligation whatsoever on Tourism Australia to approve applications and that Tourism Australia may reject any applicant, or any employee, agent or representative of any applicant, with or without reason.
14. Companies wishing to attend or who have been invited to attend cannot have any outstanding debts with Tourism Australia and they should be in good financial standing with members of the Australian tourism industry. Should the need arise to check on the financial standing of individual companies, a review will be made via domestic or internationally accepted agencies. Adverse findings of such a review will be referred to the applicant for comments before a final decision is made.
15. By submitting an application, you are taken to have agreed to the Buyer Terms and Conditions and you release Tourism Australia, to the extent permitted by law, from liability for any loss or damage suffered by you as a result of participating in the Event should your application be accepted and confirmed. To enable the Event to function in the best interests of both buyers and sellers, you agree that the information you provide to us (including personal information such as name, position, company, email and contact details) may be distributed to third parties attending this Event. Tourism Australia will only collect and use any such personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Tourism Australia may amend or reject any application, which is inconsistent with the overall criteria.
You acknowledge that if Tourism Australia cancels your participation because you have an outstanding account (as described above) you have no right of action, claim, proceeding or demand against Tourism Australia for such cancellation.
Tourism Australia may amend or reject any application, which is inconsistent with the Buyer Selection Criteria.
Tourism Australia reserves the right to waive any of one of the Buyer Selection Criteria at its sole absolute discretion.
